The site of the former coal-fired power plant between Dortmund and Castrop-Rauxel is being regenerated: Following extensive revitalization by joint venture partner Hagedorn, SEGRO is now developing a state-of-the-art, sustainable logistics and light industrial park of superlatives. The rental space on the 60-hectare site will exceed 200,000 square metres.
The wide range of space sizes—from approximately 8,000 to 85,000 square metres of contiguous space —ensures that there will be suitable options for every potential customer and a variety of business concepts.
The future truck drivers can expect a high level of comfort on site, with premium rest areas, including showers and other amenities. To avoid disturbing residents with parked vehicles, 35 truck parking spaces are planned.
Recreational and sports areas are also being designed for employees. All rooftops and parts of the facades will be greened, contributing not only to biodiversity but also helping to prevent the area from overheating. In addition, only light-colored road surfaces will be used to reflect sunlight.
