SEGRO leases 3,500 square metres to two companies at SEGRO Park Frechen
SEGRO has acquired two new customers for its new business park in Frechen near Cologne. The bilstein group has rented 1,800 square metres. A further 1,700 square metres will go to the project logistics company Hasenkamp
The space that has now been let is located in the second construction phase of the new business park, which is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2025. The first phase was completed as planned in the fourth quarter of 2024 and is also already partially let. Together, the two construction phases will offer 30,900 square metres of commercial space, which can be divided into up to 16 units.
Tim Rosenbohm, Director Light Industrial at SEGRO, says:
‘We are delighted that we were able to let the first units at SEGRO Park Frechen several months before the completion of the second construction phase. This underlines the strong demand for our strategically well-located, modern and sustainable light industrial developments from a large number of companies.’
The bilstein group, a family-run manufacturer and supplier of automotive spare parts from Ennepetal, intends to use the space for its Motair Turbo Competence Centre. Motair specialises in the industrial remanufacturing of old turbocharger parts. This sustainable process conserves resources (material and energy) and contributes to the circular economy.
Hasenkamp, whose German headquarters are located just a few metres from SEGRO Park Frechen, is using the space to expand. The company carries out customised (large-scale) logistics projects, the installation and assembly of sensitive goods and, if required, the associated warehousing.
SEGRO Park Frechen is particularly sustainable. For example, some of the rubble produced during the redevelopment of the site was utilised as recycled material for the new buildings to conserve resources. Heat pumps were also installed, which are supplied with electricity from photovoltaic systems on the warehouse roofs, as are charging points for electric cars. The customers will also be able to use this PV electricity. Parts of the roofs and façades will also be greened. Together with the planned BEG40 energy standard, these features mean that the new buildings fulfil all the requirements for DGNB platinum sustainability certification.
Located at Europaallee 133-153 in the Europark industrial estate, SEGRO Park Frechen is characterised by its excellent location with very good access to the A1 and A4 motorways
