SEGRO Shines Spotlight On Construction For The Next Generation
SEGRO, in partnership with youth development charity, Learning to Work, has hosted a 'Spotlight on Construction' event for four schools in Slough, providing an insight into the world of work for more than 60 young people
The event took place on Thursday 23 May at SEGRO’s office on the Slough Trading Estate, where members of the SEGRO team were joined by a diverse network of industry partners, including Wates Construction, Gratte Brothers, McBains and Langley College, and Windsor Forest Colleges Group. Year 10 students participated from Eden Girls School, Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy, Slough & Eton School, and Churchmead School.
Throughout the day, students participated in a Workplace Challenge that included interactive workshops, speed networking sessions and insightful Q&As, to learn first-hand about careers in the sector and the further education learning opportunities available locally.

The event is part of SEGRO’s Community Investment Plan for Slough, a framework that aims to deliver a range of educational, employability and environmental projects designed to meet the needs of the local community.
SEGRO’s schools programme is designed to help prepare young people for the world of work through a range of interventions from in-school careers advice and competitions to site visits and workplace visits. Since its launch in 2022, the programme has engaged over 9,000 secondary school students in Slough, ensuring we continue to inspire the next generation.
