Energy from wind and sun from SEGRO
SEGRO, a leading owner, manager and developer of modern warehouse and production space, has established cooperation in Poland with a supplier of energy from renewable sources.
Activities related to sustainable development have been included in the company's strategy for many years. One of the overarching goals for the entire SEGRO Group is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
The total energy purchased by SEGRO in Poland currently has the so-called a guarantee of origin, ie a "green" certificate and comes 100% from wind and sun.
- The transition to green energy is one of the many steps that we are taking in parallel to achieve emission neutrality as a Group by 2030. We intend to minimize the consumption of coal in our new investments and reduce the intensity of carbon dioxide emissions by increasing the acquisition of solar energy - says Waldemar Witczak, Regional Director of SEGRO.
For many years, at the Group level, SEGRO has been involved in activities for the benefit of society and the natural environment. The company recently launched a new Responsible SEGRO program, which sets three priorities - low carbon emissions, investing in local communities and developing talent, as well as identifying the actions that will be necessary to achieve them. aspects such as reducing energy consumption, improving the materials used or minimizing the use of natural resources. Moreover, each new developer's building is subject to rigorous BREEAM certification.
