WOŚP for Polish hospitals straight from SEGRO Business Park Warsaw, Ożarów
SEGRO, a developer, owner and manager of modern warehouse space, has provided 1,400 m2 of space free of charge in one of the facilities located in SEGRO Business Park Warsaw, Ożarów for the needs of the Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy Foundation.
The Rock Estate agency mediated in establishing cooperation.
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation, implementing the goal of the Intervention Fund it established to fight the coronavirus, stores personal protection equipment and elements of medical equipment in the SEGRO warehouse in Ożarów, including surgical masks or protective helmets, intended for health care facilities throughout Poland. The Foundation, using the warehouse space provided, distributes equipment to units all over the country on an ongoing basis. SEGRO has leased the WOŚP warehouse space at no cost, thus supporting the noble goal of helping Polish hospitals and people struggling with the effects of the pandemic.
- Help provided to the local communities in which SEGRO operates has been the foundation of our company's activities since its inception 100 years ago. This help is especially important in the most demanding moments, such as the one we are experiencing today in connection with the epidemic. As an active member of these communities, we rush to support all activities aimed at protecting human health and life , explains Magdalena Szulc, SEGRO's Director for Central Europe.
- The decision to rent a warehouse in SEGRO Business Park Warsaw, Ożarów for the needs of the WOŚP Foundation was born out of the willingness to help all those in need. In this difficult time, mutual support is very important, so it was completely natural for us to provide warehouse space as soon as possible for storing equipment necessary to fight coronavirus - adds Waldemar Olejnik , SEGRO Leasing Manager.
- In total, 2.6 million three-layer surgical masks will be delivered to hospitals, nursing homes and other health care facilities in Poland. And this is just one of the products that we have ordered to support the fight against coronavirus. There are also protective helmets, biosecurity kits and other items that we order all the time. In order to efficiently reach recipients all over Poland with our gifts, a large and modern warehouse space is necessary. Without it, it is difficult to imagine the logistics of our activities in the fight against the coronavirus. The very modern, very functional warehouse made available to us is therefore invaluable, for which we would like to thank you very much - says Jurek Owsiak , President of the Board of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
SEGRO supports charity activities not only in Poland, but also at the level of the entire Group. In three UK-based warehouses, the company has provided space for food redistribution organizations for the most deprived populations. With storage space at the Acton Park Estate, Great Cambridge Estate and Deptford Trading Estate, organizations can store and receive more food donations, as well as help food store volunteers sort and provide their local community and all those in need.
