It concerns a warehouse unit of approximately 1,700 m2 in total. Blue Water is currently moving into the new warehouse.

Blue Water Shipping is a major international logistics service provider with 60 locations worldwide. The Danish company, which has now been in existence for over 40 years, has developed over the years as a major player in the modern supply chain management market.

From the point of view of air transport, Schiphol is an important operating base for Blue Water Shipping. Hence the choice for a warehouse at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport. Connections to the airport plus the facilities that the park offers make this a suitable location.

Focus on sustainability

Blue Water focuses in all activities on reducing the impact on the environment. One of the pillars in that vision is that suppliers' working methods must meet sustainability requirements. Sustainable techniques play a major role at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport, such as the commitment to gas-free energy supply and the use of solar panels. The area development has also focused on a sustainable approach, for example by opting for LED street lighting and paying attention to biodiversity. Techniques that match the ideas of Blue Water Shipping.

Eelco Ouwerkerk, Head of SEGRO Netherlands: "We are pleased to welcome Blue Water Shipping as a new tenant. Given their sustainable focus in combination with the relevance of Schiphol, we can offer Blue Water at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport what they are looking for. A good start for a productive long-term relationship.”

Bob Tisserand, General Manager Blue Water Shipping Amsterdam: "This location fits well with the needs that we currently have in the Netherlands. The property fits in with our aim to reduce the burden on the environment and our choices for the most accessible locations. The facilities of the park combined with its proximity to the airport gives us exactly what we need to improve our services to our customers and we are happy to continue our operation from this location.”

Developments at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport

This second phase of SPAA houses six warehouse units. Two of these have been leased to DHL, one to API Netherlands, two to CSafe and the last one has now been delivered to Blue Water Shipping.

SEGRO is currently further expanding its portfolio on SPAA with the third phase. At the end of Q1 2020, 20,000 m2 will be delivered at the Tufsteen in Hoofddorp (LC2 and 3).

SEGRO was advised by CBRE and JLL in the deal with Blue Water Shipping.
